Here at Lincoln College, we pride ourselves on our welcoming and inclusive attitude. As a graduate student at Lincoln, you will have opportunities to make life-long friendships, take part in regular social events, and even shape college life by getting involved in the MCR committee. The Middle Common Room consists of around 350 graduate students working in a wide range of disciplines, from Classical Archaeology to Statistical Genomics, and from Modern Languages to Immunology. Our six-strong Social Team takes charge of a packed social calendar, which provides plenty of opportunities to mix with students from different academic and cultural backgrounds. Our Welfare Team ensure physical and mental wellbeing with a range of free exercise classes and regular MCR Teas that are open to everyone. We raise thousands of pounds for elected charities every year, with auctions, food drives and less conventional fundraisers like MCR Sports Days and Casino Nights. As students at one of the world’s most prestigious universities, we tend to enjoy participating in academic talks and debates, and these are offered by visiting professors, Lincoln’s Fellows, and our own MCR members. Lincolnites are known for their enthusiasm, sociability and loyalty to their college, which is a true reflection of the hard work that goes in to making graduate life here fulfilling and successful for all. – Lucy Hutchinson, MCR President
