Welcome - from the MCR President
Dear Student, Welcome to Lincoln College Middle Common Room (MCR), the oldest graduate common room of Oxford University. Constituted by students from all around the globe, it offers great cross-cultural experiences. As it is over 300 members strong, our graduate community is linked to virtually every University department and allows exceptional and mind-opening academic exchanges. The term 'MCR' also refers to a set of charming rooms shared by all the graduate students. Recently refurbished to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the MCR, they are ideally nested in the heart of the historic part of town. There, in a comfortable environment typical of an old Oxford college, you can find tea, coffee and a selection of newspapers available 24/7. Should you wish to relax with some friends, watch some TV, check your emails or have a drink (or just work), pop into the MCR! I hope to have the occasion to see you at the various events organised by the committee throughout the next three terms. Even though you come to Lincoln to accomplish a degree, don't forget to take some time for yourself and to mingle with our fantastic graduate community. If you wish have any questions or queries, please feel free to contact a member of the committee. This letter, along with various other documents, will be sent out to graduate freshers by post, but you can also find them (and other helpful things) on the 'Useful Documents' page. |
