Social Secretaries

Social Secretaries: Xavier Droux and Guy Giuffredi

Xavier Droux and Guy Giuffredi are the Social Secretaries of Lincoln's MCR. To keep you away from studies and help you to enjoy Oxford to the utmost, they organise a wide range of social activities, as can be seen on the term card. Besides all the advertised events, various events are also organised during term according to the season, such as the summer Garden Party or the famous Christmas Dinner.

Xavier Droux

Xavier is a DPhil student in Egyptology working on animals and animal representations in pre-dynastic Egypt under the supervision of Pr. John Baines and Dr. Renée Friedman. He was born in Fribourg, Switzerland, and finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Geneva before getting a Berrow Scholarship at Lincoln College. He is very sociable and immediately gets along well with everyone. If not in the library he often can be found in the MCR Room or in Deep Hall, drinking a pint of Cider. Often during term he enjoys the good food of Formal Hall, and he is always a good chat partner.

Guy Giuffredi

Guy is doing his DPhil in Organic Chemistry working on the Synthesis of Fluorinated Carbohydrates under the supervision of Dr. Véronique Gouverneur. Born in Bern, Switzerland, he obtained his Masters at the University of Bern before being awarded a Berrow Foundation Lord Florey Scholarship at Lincoln College. A keen squash and football player, he is nevertheless always up for a party all night long! It is not a rare occasion to find him in Deep Hall at closing time occupying the pool table with Xavier.
