Welfare: Mark Petersen and Marlena Whiting

Mark Petersen Marlena Whiting

We are responsible for helping students with a variety of issues, ranging from health and safety matters to financial and academic problems. Studying in intensive programs (which is the case for most students in Oxford), many will find themselves trying to deal with important concerns in an unfamiliar environment. Our role is to help these people feel comfortable enough to address these concerns and to ensure that the appropriate information is available in case they need it. Additionally, we are in charge of supplying students with material important for their safety and well-being (condoms, pregnancy tests, attack alarms etc.). In case you need any of these, feel free to send us an e-mail and the desired items will be pidged to you as soon as possible.

Graduate life involves many commitments and it's not rare for people to feel lost or lonely sometimes, so don't feel embarrassed to contact us if you have any additional problems or questions. We are very approachable and can be reached quite easily, and we're always happy to meet and talk (with Mark's ukulele in tow if required!).
